Yard Mania!

As the warm weather finally reached Utah, we were forced to start working on the yard. Our yard was soooooooooo much fun last year, we just were so eager to get going there year, not. So here are some of the things we have been working on.
Carter has been chilling in the yard while we work, so cute!

The flower bed I weeded forever!

After I planted the flowers and drip hose the sprinkler system broke down, so I have to do it by hand until we can get it fixed again.

Here is what I planted in the flower bed.

Our garden is getting ready to go outside, even our grapes are wrapping around the rod!

This is the first garden box that John built last night, a couple more are going to get going in the next couple of weeks! So excited, so much work!

Jared's Visit-Pasta Adventure

After a laborious winter in Disney World, and a really nice tan, Jared came to freezing Utah before heading back up to BYU-Idaho. Although his visit lacked anything exciting, I did get a couple pictures with Carter. Next time will be at the wedding!!

Jared jealous of Carter's yummy food :)

Carter jealous of Jared's yummy food :) This was at a really neat donut place near our house called Firehouse Donuts. I've been there twice and haven't regretted it. Jared seemed to have liked it as well.

On Saturday night we decided to finally attempt making our own pasta. It has been something we have wanted to do, but I would refuse since I don't have a pasta roller, but this was how it turned out.

Step 1: Mix

Step 2 Knead

Step 3 roll.. and roll... and roll... and roll..

Step 4 Cut

Step 5: Tempt Carter

Step 6: Boil water

Step 7: Play with food while waiting for water to boil

Step 8: Cook up with some meat and sauce

Step 9: Eat!!

Delicious flavor, but I was right, missed having a pasta roller. It was really thick! Next time we will have to try getting it even thinner!

Life Update

So apparently I've been bad at posting recently. So I thought I would do a quick update.

1. Carter is working on his second tooth and getting up on his knees in attempts to crawl.

2. My garden is growing pretty well.

3. Carter is loving straws and drinking water (funny kid)

4. We are slowly working on our yard. Each time I look out there it just keeps getting more and more daunting.
5. John went to the dentist and the drill slipped and hit the top of his mouth. (super sucky)
6. I have been loving my bike trailer and going out every day it is decent enough (which hasn't been much lately).
7. We are continuing with our ice cream machine. So far John's favorite is double cookie dough, and mine is peanut butter.
8. One month from today is our grand canyon trip! So excited!
9. We are getting to know our neighbors and are loving them so far.
10. We are actually getting better at bringing Carter to church and teaching our 5 year old class.

Overall loving life, especially our little guy!

Carter's First Easter

Despite the appeal of the masses of kids and the scary looking Easter bunny impersonator, we decided to wait until Carter is older to do any egg hunts. Instead we laid out some egg hunts for some families in our ward, made treats for our primary class, and had dinner at John's parents house. My favorite was Carter's super cute Easter outfit!

Hope you had a good Easter Sunday!
