Baby Stuff

This last weekend John and I went to our first baby store (weird huh at 28 weeks to go for the first time). Immediately I was overwhelmed, a whole store just for babies? I never would have thought that baby's needed so much stuff! We went to look at cribs, but once you are there it sucks you in! Bedding, strollers, playpens, car seats, diaper pails, dressers, bathing, and thousands more square footage of stuff!

Good news is that we found out crib!

and our theme (although we went cheap and just bought the sheets and some wall decal).

John is pretty excited about having a boy and loved his time in wild-land fire fighting so this is very appropriate. I also looked at chairs and found one we loved! I wish it was cheaper, and we are still deciding if that is where we want to spend our money (any advice?).

As for all the other stuff, I thought this was the funniest.

It is a chair that simulates a car ride! John's parents told me it was a good idea but I couldn't ever imagine buying that!

I also decided to do the squares in the nursery and got paint samples yesterday. I'm pretty excited about it, and glad that Debbie likes doing these projects or I would never attempt it. Hoping to do that next week.

As for all the other baby stuff, it is just going to have to wait some. I'm all baby stuffed out for the moment!

  1. I was looking at a blog and saw that you commented on it too, so I had to look you up! I'm excited for you guys with the baby on the way!! I'm impressed you lasted that long before going shopping. I found out it was a boy and INSTANTLY wanted to go shopping. :) The squares on the wall sounds awesome. I'm excited to see how it turns out!
    Congrats!!

    1. Well Grace, I'm scared to death of this thing growing inside of me, but when I realized how close it was getting I figured I better go. How are you doing? Boy too huh! Exciting!

  2. Wait until your precious baby boy doesn't stop crying no matter what you try or won't fall asleep and you won't think that idea of simulating a car ride is so funny anymore. You will think it is a lifesaver! I recommend you learn all the tricks of the trade.

  3. Ask your grandma Peden about me as a baby and car rides. NOT that I am advocating you buy more stuff (far from it), but you might want to have the cars keys ready and/or compare the price of gas vs the car seat.....

  4. As far as the chair, I spent a lot of time in mine and I'm so glad it was comfortable. I do recommend checking Ikea though. Usually cheaper than other places but still cute and comfy. Spend your money on things that last longer. They spend more than a year in their crib, they spend a couple of months in a bouncer. Also, those less used things are easier to find used in good condition.
